An excellent map of Panama

If you’ve ever tried to find a good map of Panama, you most likely came off disappointed. They are difficult to find, and most are not very good at all.
There is one map of Panama that is excellent. Well, it is actually a map of Costa Rica on one side, and Panama on the other. [...]

Good News for Canadian Travellers to Panama

We got two good news items this week for Canadians who travel to Panama regularly like myself.
The first one was that Continental Airlines is joining Star Alliance. This means that will be able to buy connecting flights between Air Canada and Continental, opening up many new possibilities for flying to Panama. This also means that [...]

Panama’s Sarigua National Park

We unfortunately had to cancel our trip to Coiba Island after our boat ride became unavailable. So instead we spent three days exploring the Azuero Peninsula of Panama, and it was well worth it. What a beautiful place that is, with extremely varied landscape that includes rain-forest covered mountains, rolling plains, a desert wasteland, and [...]

Another trip to Panama and Coiba Island

We’re heading back to Panama next week to visit some friends and check on our house construction and business investments. This will be my 7th trip in 20 months.
We also planned a two-day camping trip to Coiba Island, and I’m really looking forward to that. Should provide some interesting photo opportunities!

Last Friday’s Ottawa Citizen had a great article on Panama. A young woman visited Panama alone and found great people, an island paradise, and beautiful mountains covered with lush rain forest. She chose her destinations very wisely to make the best of her short two week trip and her account gives you a nice feel [...]

The dry season is finally here!

The dry season has finally arrived, just like flicking a switch! On December 25th it rained for most of the day but in the evening we could feel the wind beginning to turn northerly. We woke up on the 26th to a gorgeous blue sky and the same thing again today. The northerly winds seem [...]

Christmas in Panama

I’m back in Panama for a week and this will be my first Christmas in the tropics! With all the warm weather, palm trees, and tropical forest it doesn’t look or feel like Christmas at all. But that doesn’t bother me since I have gotten off the Christmas bandwagon a long time ago. I think [...]
