More construction photos

I received a few more pictures of the construction this week.

Here’s a view of the bedroom module taking shape. You can see the two more or less octagonal bedrooms one on top of the other. The lower floor has a large ensuite bathroom extension on the back. The bedroom themselves are octagones within a square structure. The square structure will extend the roof well beyond the bedroom walls to offer better protection agaisnt rain and sun. This also provides a wrap-around balcony.

This next picture shows that we had a bit of a close call when the rain caused a large boulder that was resting precariously above the dirt wall to come rolling down and narrowly miss the column. There will be a retaining wall there eventually, and this area will actually become a private garden off of the master bathroom. You can never assume anything in Panama. When I saw that large rock during my last visit I assumed they would take it down before beginning to build the walls. My assumption was wrong and the inevitable erosion did its work!

And last but not least, they have begun pouring the floor of the pool! With this section of floor in place, they can now pour the backwall of the guesthouse which happens to be part of the pool wall.
