Canadian Undergraduate Technology Conference

This Friday I will be speaking at the Canadian Undergraduate Technology Conference in Toronto. My subject will be “Disruptive Technology”, a presentation I borrowed from our CTO Jeff Kempiners.
What is a disruptive technology you might ask?

Disruptive Technology is defined as a technology trend that eventually overturns the dominant technology in the market. Disruptive technologies are innovations that cause disruption in daily life, business process, or global economies. Disruptive in this context is not necessarily a bad thing, but rather an agent of change that forces individuals and companies to adapt. One example of this is the movement from film-based photography to Digital Photography, allowing consumers more choice and freedom and forcing companies who make Cameras and Film products to adapt their business model.

The presentation will focus on current trends in technology and will demonstrate some forward thinking on how companies and individuals may take advantage of these disruptive innovations.
