Remembering 9/11, or Forgetting the Other Victims?

On this 6th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, I hope that politicians and other people in positions of power will go beyond the photo-ops provided by the moments of silence, the candlelight vigils, and the distribution of useless remembrance ribbons.

Let’s hope they will do something to help the thousands of workers who toiled in and around the toxic aftermath of the tragedy, many of whom have already died or are seriously ill.  Let’s stop the rhetoric and the useless wars and let’s do something for the tens of thousands of other victims who risked their lives to help others. Let’s remember 9/11, but let’s remember ALL of the victims.
