Ok, we have selected an architect. It is Delfin del Busto de Roux, from 8 Grados Arquitectura. Delfin and his partner are young and dynamic and they have been in business for themselves for only one year. Before that they were working for a large firm that designed condo towers, restaurants, casinos, and shopping malls. Delfin got his Master’s degree in Spain.
We had asked them (along with a competing firm) to provide us with a concept based on our lot and a few general guidelines we provided. Contrary to the other firm, these guys took the time to drive out to our lot and study it carefully. They also really listened to our guidelines and took our likes and dislikes to heart. The result is a preliminary design that we’re very happy with; a very solid foundation on which to develop the design over the next 3 to 4 months. We’re really looking forward to working with Delfin on this.

I love the design. It compels treating the great outdoors as part of the living environment. Well thought out!
Thanks Sieg, that was one of our core guidelines. We’re pretty excited about this, and can’t wait to see where it ends up going.
