Hot on the trails of a KGB-like move by the White House to control its scientific agencies, today was the beginning of Senate hearings into alleged manipulations of science reports by the Bush Administration. Shocking, really. And this is supposed to be the most civilized, free, and democratic country in the world? Mass delusion is [...]

The storage junkies over at Seagate are branching out a bit. Instead of just seeing how many terabytes they can cram into increasingly smaller hard drive platters, they’re getting a little creative with this new “D.A.V.E.” (Digital Audio Video Experience) device. The little unit, which we assume is holding a 1.8-inch drive within its [...]

I normally really enjoy getting into some good, vibrant debates, which is partly why I maintain three blogs. Unfortunately I find that I have a really hard time keeping my cool when arguing with someone who makes both irrational and irresponsible arguments. Buenas tardes amigos. ¿Qué hay de nuevo?
I began taking Spanish classes at Ryerson University in Toronto this past week. I had missed the first two classes because I was in Panama, and I was shocked to find out that they were already conjugating verbs and making complete sentences at third lesson! I have some catching [...]

During our trip to Panama we talked to two different builders and two architects; we will be selecting an architect before the end of the month. We plan to build a home made of three of four different “pods” linked together by covered pathways. We want to take the concept of “living outside” to the [...]

I just upgraded this site as well as TragicPlanet to WordPress 2.1. It is significantly faster than the previous version but otherwise you shouldn’t see any difference. Let me know if you notice any problems.

Well we are back home after two weeks in the wonderful climate of Panama. It was really hard to leave beautiful Altos del Maria and get back to a snowy Canada and -15C temperatures. Altos del Maria really grows on you, so we’re going to try and speed up our retirement and move south!
