Viruses and Worms now attacking Mobile Devices

2006 will go down as the year when a new class of computer viruses and worms appeared in force: the mobile variety! Some of these are particularly nasty because they can replicate themselves from device to device via Bluetooth communication.
Because the most widely used Mobile Phone OS worldwide is the Symbian OS (especially in Europe and Asia), most viruses so far have been targeting those devices and not those with PALM OS or Windows Mobile.
If you own any type of device that supports Bluetooth, you should immediately ensure that you configure it to be NOT DISCOVERABLE. That way if you happen to walk by an infected Bluetooth device, it will not be able to infect yours.
Now, there are other ways in which mobile viruses replicate themselves, including via emails, but Bluetooth replication is by far the most dangerous.
