Orthognathic Surgery - Follow Up 2

Well it has now been a month since my surgery and I am almost back to normal. I no longer have any colourful marks on my face and the swelling is down to a just barely noticeable level, right around where the three metal plates were inserted. The big plastic plate that was holding the three pieces of my upper jaw together has been removed, allowing me to talk normally again. My orthodontal treatments have resumed to finalize the placement of my teeth, and we’re almost there. I’m still only eating soft foods as anything hard causes extreme pain in my jaw.
I still find that I haven’t fully recovered fromt he 6 days without eating. I get out of breath easily and my muscles are still weak. But I have slowly resumed mild exercising and things are improving daily. I will be back to work in Toronto next week.
Thanks to all who have offered words of support! This ordeal is now mostly behind me.
