D200 Tips & Tricks: Using the Function Button for Spot Metering

The D200 has two buttons on the right hand side of the lens mount. Those buttons are placed so you can easily operate them with your right finger tips. The top one is the standard depth-of-field preview, but the bottom one is a “function” button to wich you can assign one of many functions via [...]

D200 Tips & Tricks: Using Continuous Shooting Mode

I almost always leave my D200 shooting mode set to CH (Continuous Highspeed) where it is capable of 5 frames per second (FPS). I’ve got used to releasing the shutter fast enough to only take one shot, and even if I occasionally take an extra shot, that’s no big deal.
The benefit of doing this is [...]

Reworked Mt. Baker shot

I reworked this Mt Baker, changed the composition by removing the tree on the left. Changed exposure, colours and contrast settings a bit.

DPReview’s Nikon D200 review

DPReview has finally posted their long awaited review of the D200, and it is a prety good one. Most of their “cons” have to do with the provided software (or lack there of), which I personally don’t care about since I use Photoshop and DxO Optics Pro.

Mt Baker, WA

I went skiing at Mt Baker last week and had another perfect spring skiing day! 500″ snow base along with warm weather and beautiful sunshine. That place is just surrounded with outstanding views like Mt Shuskan and Mt Baker itself. Here’s a couple of shots form that trip.

Freezing Rain

We got a lot of freezing rain last Friday, which caused havoc on the roads and at the airports. But it gave me a few interesting photo oportunities!

Glaciers melting faster then expected.

There has been several studies in recent months that report evidence that the global warming trend is accelerating and that its effects are actually larger then expected. Here is a report that says the glaciers of Greenland are now flowing out more then twice as fast as they were just 10 years ago.
Scary stuff. The [...]
