I was recently made aware of another very good Photoshop book for photographers: The Photoshop CS2 Book for Digital Photographers (Voices That Matter)

This book is very different in that rather then being a rehash of the Photoshop manual, it actually provides a series of short tutorials. It discusses most of the problems that photographers need to deal with and it does so in a very concise manner.  Here is a sample of things it covers:

• The sharpening techniques the pros use
• The pro’s tricks for fixing the most common digital photo problems fast!
• The step-by-step set-up for getting what comes out of your printer to match exactly what you saw on screen
• The retouching secrets of how the pros retouch portraits
• How to process raw digital camera images

So if you want to save time and learn how to do these things without wading through pages of BS, this is the book for you. Very highly recommended!
